My daily routine was quickly established. I would usually take my shower the night before so that I could get a few minutes more sleep in the morning. Once I awoke, I would wash my face, use some scented talc and then get dressed in my lingerie and school uniform. One day I would wear the skirt and blazer, the next I would wear my uniform jumper. After doing my makeup, I would join Mom for breakfast.

Mom greeted her two sleepy daughters on Christmas morning with a nice breakfast. By the time we were finished eating, there was a little more life in us. We gathered around the tree and had Mom open her presents first. Sharon gave her a lovely full-skirted, knee length, dress in red satin and a bottle of her favorite perfume. Mom thanked us both for our presents, saying she really liked both gifts.

Mom told me how nice I looked when I got home. She also asked if it would be all right with me if Elaine came over and took some pictures of Bobbi and I before we went to the dance. I told her that it was fine with me. I went to my room to start to get dressed. I took off everything that I had on and put my new gold satin garter belt around my waist. I selected a pair of my nylons from my drawer to wear.

Mom was sitting in the living room reading as I walked in. She looked up from her book and asked me if I had had a good time. I smiled at her and said that the evening was great. With that, I walked, or rather I floated on air to my room. I removed my skirt and blouse and carefully hung them up. After I removed my shoes, slip, stockings and garter belt, I went to my drawer to select a nightgown.

Toward the middle of August, Bobbi asked if I would like to go to a s dance over Labor Day weekend. She indicated that any attire related to the s would be appropriate. I agreed immediately and then thought about what I would wear to the dance. At first, I thought I would wear my poodle skirt and top that evening. However, after some more thought, I came up with a better outfit. I asked Bobbi if she would mind if I wore something very dressy from the s.

Prologue That first weekend had been absolutely wonderful. I had finally gotten my nerve up and admitted to my sister Sharon that I had worn some of her lingerie and had now wanted to experience the feeling of being dressed completely as a girl. Fearing a turndown at best and laughter and ridicule at the worst, I was both shocked and pleased when she did neither. Instead she enabled me to fulfill my dream and helped me dress.

The intervening week proceeded normally. I spent my days at the pool serving as a lifeguard dressed in one of my feminine bathing suits. After work, I would come home and put on lingerie, stockings, heels and a skirt and blouse until bedtime, when I would change into a silky nightgown for bed. On Friday, Mom told me that I was now officially a student at Manor Hill Girls High School as she had signed the records transfer request and the admission papers. I was thrilled at the prospect of attending school this fall as a young lady.

The entire school was involved in staging the Christmas Dance each year. It was the highlight of the fall semester, signifying the end, hopefully successfully, of the fall term and the beginning of Christmas break. Teachers attended, not only as chaperones, but also as participants in the evening. Alumnae were even known to attend the annual dance. Each class took a role in getting ready, whether it was in decorating the gym, providing refreshments

The ringing of the alarm reminded me that summer was now officially over. I quickly headed to the bathroom to shower and start to get ready for the first day of school. Fortunately, I did not have to compete with Sharon over the use of the bathroom as she had just returned to State University for her senior year. Even though she had left Sunday afternoon, I already did miss my big sister, especially today, and wished that she could be here when I left for school. The end of June arrived more quickly than I realized. I had been working every day at the pool. I would put on my panty brief and then one of my bathing suits.
